About the author:

I have stage managed over 3,000 performances of musicals, comedies, dramas, and opera. I majored in theatre in college, attending the University of South Florida, Florida State University, and Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. When I was in school, stage managing was not covered in any of my classes. It always seemed strange to me that one of the key jobs in any production was virtually ignored in academic theatre. Maybe that has changed by now, although, most of the colleges I wrote to when working on this book replied that they did not offer classes in stage management.

I felt there was a real gap in training and education for this most significant job. So, I wrote the book that I wanted and needed when I started stage managing.
